An Interesting and Rewarding Job

As a Sales Development Representative at Alice POS, within the Business Development team, you will play a crucial role in expanding our cloud-based point of sale solution by identifying and leveraging new business opportunities. You will be at the forefront of interacting with prospects and potential customers, actively listening to their needs to propose tailored solutions that support their growth and transition to modern commerce.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prospecting and Development of New Accounts:
    • Research and prospect identification: use varied prospecting strategies to identify new qualified leads. This includes market data analysis, networking, and digital platform utilization.
    • Lead contact and qualification: initiate initial contacts with prospects to assess their potential and interest in Alice POS, using specific qualification criteria.
    • Proactive follow-ups: regularly follow up with prospects through various channels (email, phone calls, social media) to maintain their interest and guide them through the sales process.
  2. Product Demonstration and Presentation:
    • Demo preparation: prepare and customize product demonstrations according to the specific needs of each prospect to maximize impact.
    • Execution of demonstrations: present the product to potential clients highlighting its benefits and key features that address their business needs. Use and refine conversational guides (playbooks).
    • Feedback and adaptation: gather feedback from prospects following demonstrations to improve future presentations and adjust the offering if necessary.
  3. Sales Closure / Optimizations / Upselling:
    • Sales pipeline tracking: use HubSpot CRM to manage and track the sales pipeline, ensuring all information is up to date and reflects the current status of opportunities and needs of prospects and current clients.
    • Contract explanation: guide prospects through the final stages of the sales process, ensuring understanding of standard contract terms.
    • Facilitation of contract signing: ensure all stakeholders are aligned and necessary documents are in place for a quick and efficient conclusion.
    • Identification of upselling opportunities: be attentive to client needs to identify upselling opportunities, maximizing transaction value by offering relevant add-ons.
    • Upselling offers presentation: engage existing clients with tailored upselling offers, aiming to maximize value for the client without overselling.
    • Contribution to optimization: provide insights and recommendations to improve sales processes and CRM tool usage in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
  4. Internal Collaboration and Communication:
    • Alignment with marketing: collaborate closely with the marketing team to refine prospecting strategies and align campaign messages with field feedback.
    • Liaison with the customer success team: ensure a smooth transition of newly acquired clients to the customer success team, clearly communicating each client’s specific needs and expectations.
    • Product mastery: stay constantly informed about product updates and actively participate in learning to become a product expert for clients.

Skills and Requirements

  • Strong motivation for sales and a marked orientation towards results.

  • Ability to quickly identify and qualify prospects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ease in establishing lasting business relationships.

  • Proficiency with modern CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) and technology in general.
  • (Asset) Previous experience in selling point-of-sale (POS) solutions or in the retail / ERP industry.
  • Experience in B2B sales of SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions.
  • Bilingualism (French and English), allowing effective communication in both languages.
  • Competence in using team collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams) and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace suite (preferred).
  • Must have valid work authorization in Canada.

Experiences and Education

  • 2 years of experience in similar roles, related to digital (web) products, preferably in a B2B context.
  • College diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time permanent position (40 hours per week) in a dynamic startup-like work environment, but with a mature product already established in the market.
